PRIVACY POLICY
Thank you for using Kwippe! With our products and services (“Products”) you will be able to
express yourself visually through creating artwork to be used in connection with your content in
social media, emails, text messages and other ways. We wrote this policy to help you understand
what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. If you have any
questions or comments about this Privacy Policy, please contact us at privacy@kwippe.com.
This Privacy Policy describes how and when Kwippe collects, uses and shares your information
when you use our Products. When using any of our Products, you consent to the collection,
transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this
Privacy Policy. Irrespective of which country you reside in or supply information from, you
authorize Kwippe to use your information in the United States and any other country where
Kwippe operates.
1. Information We Collect and How it May Be Shared.
We collect information in two ways:
(a) When you give it to us or give us permission to obtain it.
When you sign up for or use our Products, you voluntarily give us certain information.
This can include your name, profile photo, Kwippe image, comments, likes, email
address you used to sign up, and any other information you provide us. If you’re using
Kwippe on your mobile device, you can also choose to provide us with location data.
You also may give us permission to access your information in other services. For
example, you may link your Facebook or Twitter or other social media account to
Kwippe, which allows us to obtain information from those accounts (e.g., your friends or
contacts). The information we obtain from those services often depends on your settings
or their privacy policies, so be sure to check what those are.
Most of the information you provide us is information you are asking us to make public.
This includes not only the Kwippe images you elect to share through Kwippe.com or
otherwise through the Products, and those you post on a public social media service
(which Kwippe may republish). It may also include your User Content and related tweets
or comments made using our Products. We may use this information to customize the
content we show you, including ads. When you share information or content, you should
think carefully about what you are making public.
We may share or disclose your information at your direction, such as when you authorize
a third-party web client or application to access your Kwippe account.
(b) When we get technical information when you use our products or use websites or apps that
have Kwippe features. Whenever you use a website, mobile application, or other Internet service,
there’s certain information that almost always gets created and recorded automatically. The same
is true when you use our products. Here are some of the types of information we collect:
Log Data. When you use Kwippe or go to a webpage or use an app that has Kwippe
features (when available), our servers automatically record information (“log data”)
including information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website or your
mobile app sends when you’re using it. This log data may include your Internet Protocol
address, the address of the web pages you visited that had Kwippe features, browser type
and settings, the date and time of your request, how you used Kwippe, and cookie data.
Cookie data. Depending on how you’re accessing our products, we may use “cookies” (a
small text file sent by your computer each time you visit our website, unique to your
Kwippe account or your browser), or similar technologies to record log data. When we
use cookies, we may use “session” cookies (that last until you close your browser) or
“persistent” cookies (that last until you or your browser delete them). For example, we
may use cookies to store your language preferences or other Kwippe settings so you don‘t
have to set them up every time you visit Kwippe. Some of the cookies we use are
associated with your Kwippe account (including personal information about you, such as
the email address you gave us), and other cookies are not. Most Internet browsers
automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to
stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you
visit. However, some Services may not function properly if you disable cookies.
Device Information. In addition to log data, we may also collect information about the
device you’re using Kwippe on, including what type of device it is, what operating system
you’re using, device settings, unique device identifiers, and crash data. Whether we
collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you’re using
and its settings. For example, different types of information are available depending on
whether you’re using a Mac or a PC, or an iPhone or an Android phone. To learn more
about what information your device makes available to us, please also check the policies
of your device manufacturer or software provider.
Third-Parties and Affiliates. Kwippe may use a variety of third-party services to help
provide our Services, such as storing or hosting your User Content, and to help us
understand and improve the use of our Services, such as Google Analytics. These third-
party service providers may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web
page request, such as cookies or your IP address. Third-party ad partners may share
information with us, like a browser cookie ID, website URL visited, mobile device ID, or
cryptographic hash of a common account identifier (such as an email address), to help us
measure and tailor ads. For example, this allows us to display ads about things you may
have already shown interest in. We may also receive information about you from our
corporate affiliates in order to help provide, understand, and improve our Services and
our affiliates’ services, including the delivery of ads.
Commerce Services. You may provide your payment information, including your credit
or debit card number, card expiration date, CVV code, and billing address (collectively,
“Payment Information”), along with your shipping address, to complete a commerce
transaction on Kwippe or through one of our third-party payment processors. You may
also provide your credit or debit card number to register for card-linked services, such as
offers. To facilitate future purchases on Kwippe, we may store your Payment Information,
excluding CVV code, and shipping address, which you can remove from your account at
any time using your account settings. We consider your Payment Information and
shipping address private and do not make such information public. We collect and store
information created by your purchases made on Kwippe (“Transaction Data”). If you
register your credit or debit card with Kwippe for card-linked services, we receive
information about the card transactions from a third-party payment services provider
(“Registered Card Data”). Transaction Data and Registered Card Data may include the
merchant’s name and the date, time and amount of the transaction. Kwippe may use
Registered Card Data to verify eligibility for card-linked services, and may also use
Registered Card Data to limit the number of offers available to you and keep track of your
offers.
Sellers of Goods and Services. If you buy goods or services on Kwippe, we may provide
the seller, commerce provider or marketplace with your name, email address, shipping
address, Payment Information and Transaction Data to facilitate payment processing,
order fulfillment and dispute resolution (including payment and shipping disputes) and to
help prevent, detect and investigate fraud or other prohibited activities. Please refer to
these third parties’ privacy policies for information about their privacy practices.
Service Providers. We engage service providers to perform functions and provide
services to us in the United States and abroad. We may share your private personal
information with such service providers subject to confidentiality obligations consistent
with this Privacy Policy, and on the condition that the third parties use your private
personal data only on our behalf and pursuant to our instructions. We share your Payment
Information with payment services providers to process payments; prevent, detect and
investigate fraud or other prohibited activities; facilitate dispute resolution such as
chargebacks or refunds; and for other purposes associated with the acceptance of credit or
debit cards. We may share your credit or debit card number with payment services
providers, or third parties authorized by them, to monitor card transactions at
participating merchants and track redemption activity for the purposes of providing card-
linked services.
Business Transfers and Affiliates. In the event that Kwippe is involved in a bankruptcy,
merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or
transferred as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will apply to your information
as transferred to the new entity. We may also disclose information about you to our
corporate affiliates in order to help provide, understand, and improve our Services and
our affiliates’ services, including the delivery of ads.
Non-Private or Non-Personal Information. We may share or disclose your non-private,
aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your public user profile
information, public User Content, the people you follow or that follow you, or the number
of users who clicked on a particular link (even if only one did), or reports to advertisers
about unique users who saw or clicked on their ads after we have removed any private
personal information (such as your name or contact information).
Law and Harm. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Policy, we may preserve
or disclose your information if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a
law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud,
security or technical issues; or to protect Kwippe’s rights or property. However, nothing
in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any legal defenses or objections that you may
have to a third party’s, including a government’s, request to disclose your information.
2. Kwippe’s Use of Information.
We use the information we collect to provide our products to you and make them better, develop
new products, and protect Kwippe and our users. For example, we may log how often people use
certain portions of our product, which can help us understand which version is better.
We may also use the information we collect to offer you customized content, including: (a)
suggesting websites or boards you might like; (b) showing you ads you might be interested in;
and (c) learn more about how we use information from outside of Kwippe to customize your
Kwippe experience.
We also use the information we collect to: (a) send you updates, newsletters, marketing materials
and other information that may be of interest to you. For example, depending on your email
notification settings, we may send you information about Kwippes, products or services you may
like. You can decide to stop getting these updates by updating your account settings (or through
other settings we may provide); (b) help your friends and contacts find you on Kwippe. For
example, if you sign up using a Facebook account, we may help your Facebook friends find your
account on Kwippe to view your public User Content when they first sign up for Kwippe. Or, we
may allow people to search for your account on Kwippe using your email address; (c) respond to
your questions or comments.
The information we collect may be “personally identifiable” (meaning it can be used to
specifically identify you as a unique person) or “non-personally identifiable” (meaning it can’t be
used to specifically identify you). We use both types of information, and combinations of both
types, as described above. We may use or store information wherever Kwippe does business,
including countries outside your own.
3. Options in Kwippe Regarding Your Privacy.
Our goal is to give you simple and meaningful choices over your information. If you have a
Kwippe account, many of the choices you have on Kwippe are built directly in to the product or
your account settings. For example, you can:
(a) access and change information in your profile page at any time, choose whether your
profile page is available to search engines, or choose whether others can find your
Kwippe page using your email address;
(b) link or unlink your Kwippe account from an account on another service (e.g.,
Facebook or Twitter). For some services (like Facebook);
(c) use those features that do not result in transmission of your User Content to Kwippe.
Using Kwippe to send User Content through email or a text message will not result in
Kwippe receiving that User Content if you do not elect to also share that User Content on
Kwippe.com or through our Products; and/or
(d) close your account at any time. When you close your account, we’ll deactivate it and
remove your User Content. Kwippe may retain your User Content, if any, that was
previously made public. We may retain archived copies of your information as required
by law or for legitimate business purposes (including to help address fraud and spam).
You may have choices available to you through the device or software you use to access the
Products. For example, the browser you use may provide you with the ability to control cookies
or other types of local data storage; your mobile device may provide you with choices around
how and whether location or other data is shared with us. To learn more about these choices,
please see the information provided by the device or software provider.
4. General matters.
Kwippe is not directed to children under 13. If you learn that your minor child has provided us
with personal information without your consent, please contact us.
We may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we’ll post any changes on this page.
If you continue to use Kwippe after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. If
the changes are significant, we may provide more prominent notice or obtain your consent as
required by law.
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a change to this policy that, in
our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via an update or email to the email address
associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Products after those changes
become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
